With the big Gold Medal showdown between the United States and Canada less than a few hours away, Olympic fever is sweeping both nations.

No sir, NHL action starts up again tomorrow. Then you can go back to sleep.
So to get you ready, The Royal Half decided to interview some of the people involved in the the big game. Let's see what they had to say after the jump!

"You know, I really laid the groundwork for this current team in 2006. It's called rebuilding, people."

"It took me 2 years to win a cup in Anaheim. It took me 2 years to get Team USA into the gold medal game. Toronto... well, that will probably take a little bit longer."

"Blah-blah-blah-blah-blah!" "Noise-noise-noise-Eurotrash-noise-noise!" "Do you believe in miracles?!"

"I think that winning this Gold Medal will finally change the public's perception of me as a whiny, annoying jerkoff."
"Shut the fuck up, Cindy."
"Sigh."

"Of course Team USA is gonna win... I wouldn't have agreed to do this stupid photoshoot if we were gonna lose."

"I kinda liked having my picture taken. Maybe it's just because I'm so outgoing and talkative."

"I'm getting more ice time than Seabrook, Boyle and Pronger. But what I'm really getting is a tremendous amount of Olympic trim."

"Vancouver has some amazing restaurants. Believe me, I've had the time to check them out."

"No, that's cool. We didn't want to play for Team USA anyways."

"I wanted to play."

Hitchcock: "Did we really have to make these jerseys life-size?"

"Trust me, if there was a way to screw this game up, I'd have found it by now. Go, Slovakia!"

"If Getzlaf scores... then the terrorists have won. Oh! Ice hockey. My bad."

There will be no sarcastic captions for this one. Because a photo of Brendan Shanahan and Neil Young is the most awesome thing in the world.

Ok, Shanny and Will Arnett is a close 2nd.
Well, no matter what some of the people involved say... the game between the United States and Canada this afternoon should be an instant classic. But I hope USA kicks its largest National Forest back to where it belongs... Europe!

"Do it for me, boys."
